 Brussels
Airport is located about 8 miles north east
of Brussels city centre at the Belgium town
of Zaventem. The airport has excellent road
communications and is connected to the R0
Brussels ring road by a short stretch of the
A201 motorway. From the R0 there are easy
motorway connections to Antwerp, Liege and
Namur via the A1, A3 and A4 respectively.
The Brussels Airport Terminal building is
divided in two Piers, A and B. Both piers
share common Arrivals and Departures Areas
where there are a range of shops, bars, cafes
and other airport services including the Hertz

2 near the exit to the Arrivals Hall. Brussels
Airport handled 18.5 million passengers in
2008 nearly 1.2 million of which flew from
airports in the United Kingdom. The airport
has had to recover over recent years from
the demise of the national airline, Sabena,

to regain the level of passenger figures that
it was attaining in 2000 which were over 21.5
million each year.
